KAS Uganda, in partnership with the FLI, unveiled Uganda’s first-ever Public Interest Litigation (PIL)
Compendium.
The PIL Compendium presents 24 landmark cases that have shaped Uganda’s legal and constitutional
development including Charles Onyango Obbo & Andrew Mwenda v Attorney General and the
CEHURD v Attorney General cases, which continue to influence freedom of expression and health
rights advocacy respectively.
Written in clear, accessible language, the publication is a vital learning tool for lawyers, students, civic
educators, and citizens interested in understanding how justice evolves in practice.
